About The Position

AWP Safety is America’s Leading Traffic Management Company seeking Protectors to join their team. As a Protector, you will work with a team at job sites, with no prior experience or degree required. The company emphasizes safety first, providing training and support to help employees build a career. Daily work involves setting up and taking down traffic control equipment, guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle, monitoring traffic and job site activity, adhering to safety rules, communicating with the crew and supervisor, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions year-round, with potential for shifts to change based on job needs, including nights, weekends, or emergency work. Employees may stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift and will be provided with safety gear, but must supply their own steel-toe safety boots.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license
Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods
Able to lift 40–50 pounds
Willing to work in traffic and changing weather
Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift
Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job)
Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time
Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect

Responsibilities

Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down
Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity
Following all safety rules taught in training
Communicating with your crew and supervisor
Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
Working outside all year, in all weather
Standing or walking 8 to 12 hours per shift
