About The Position

AWP Safety, America’s leading traffic management company, is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger, referred to as a Protector. This entry-level role requires no prior experience or degree, as comprehensive training is provided. The position emphasizes safety and offers career development opportunities within the company. Protectors work as part of a team at job sites, performing tasks related to traffic control and site safety. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, or emergency work. Physical demands include standing or walking for 8 to 12 hours per shift and lifting 40-50 pounds. AWP Safety provides necessary safety gear, but employees must provide their own steel-toe safety boots. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather
• Flexible schedule
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job)

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity
• Following all safety rules taught in training
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe
• Working outside all year, in all weather
• Standing or walking 8 to 12 hours per shift
• Showing up on time, every shift
• Staying alert around moving traffic and following all safety rules all the time
• Treating coworkers, clients, and the public with respect
