About The Position

G&W Products is a leader in contract metal manufacturing and fabrication, with expertise in metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, welding, tool and die work, powder coating, and assembly. Founded in 1968, our modern facilities span 190,000 square feet across three locations in Fairfield, OH. We serve industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We are seeking a Traffic Control Clerk to join our team for a 1st shift position at our Fairfield, OH warehouse. This role is crucial for managing freight, shipment, and traffic operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance in all transportation activities. The Traffic Control Clerk performs vital administrative and operational duties, including tracking and coordinating shipments, maintaining meticulous records, processing documentation, and communicating with vendors, carriers, and customers. This position supports both office and warehouse functions, including the loading and unloading of trucks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or traffic management.
  • Knowledge of traffic or transportation regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and transportation management software for tracking, data entry, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
  • Previous forklift certification required and must pass G&W forklift certification within two weeks of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track and document movement of goods, vehicles, or freight, including inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Process and prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, permits, and invoices.
  • Coordinate scheduling and routing to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records in our inventory management systems.
  • Communicate with drivers, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues or adjust shipments as needed.
  • Provide customer service regarding tracking, delays, or shipping inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation and traffic regulations.
  • Monitor and report on traffic patterns, shipment status, and logistics costs to support decision-making.
