About The Position

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for coordinating and consolidating shipments to ensure the lowest cost transportation is used. This involves analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and auditing carrier costs and performances. The position also coordinates the export of all EBARA related products.

Requirements

  • AA or BA degree in Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) - Six (6) years in a data entry position.
  • General ability in the use of personal computing hardware and software to enter project information, such as import data, cost estimating, and tracking.
  • General knowledge of processes and tools to maintain, archive, and retrieve digital files.
  • General knowledge of generating reports and presentation materials as needed for assigned projects.
  • Four (4) - Six (6) years pulling, packing, and shipping customer orders.
  • Possess a general understanding of processing orders for shipment to customers.
  • Four (4) - Six (6) years working for a freight forwarder.
  • Must be knowledgeable of import and export regulations.
  • Working knowledge of general policies and procedures.
  • Strong Customer Relations skills.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Working knowledge of shipping and receiving documents and controls.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customers.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Recordkeeping of all Import and Export shipments.
  • Prepare documents for export shipments (SLI, Commercial Invoice, and Packing List).
  • Bill coding and approval of freight invoices for payment – Record keeping of all invoices paid.
  • Main contact for freight forwarder to solve & follow up on day-to-day issues such as delays, damages, refunds etc.
  • Responsible in the Investigation of lost and or missing shipments.
  • Create monthly Freight Forwarder Performance reports.
  • Assist in preparing and processing freight damage claims from insurance companies and/or carriers.
  • Maintain present rates and proposed rates to ensure the proper and most economic mode of transportation is used.
  • Maintain logs and compile information on routes, rates, and services on various vendors.
  • Responsible for Yearly contract negotiations with freight forwarders.
  • Interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with EBARA safety policies.
  • Comply with EBARA’s safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
