About The Position

This entry-level, part-time position monitors the day-to-day operations of the Transportation department at Fastenal’s distribution center at 1225 Mid Valley Dr, Jessup, PA 18434. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., for up to 28 hours per week.

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a current, full, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program, and be able to meet company driving-record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
• Have proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
• Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
• Be willing to work a flexible schedule.
• Demonstrate the core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
• Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and potentially up to 100 pounds.
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).

Nice To Haves

• Possess or be currently working toward obtaining a Commercial Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the effective and efficient daily operations of the Traffic department.
• Communicate internally and externally by phone and email.
• Maintain files, documents, paperwork, and data entry.
• Manage budgets and performance metrics.
• Comply with safety regulations.
• Assist with scheduling drivers and securing loads.
• Operate a Fastenal vehicle and run truck routes, Non-CDL and/or CDL, as needed.
