We are recruiting traditional labor summer associates for our White Plains, Cleveland, Orange County, San Francisco, and Sacramento offices. This program aims to provide a realistic understanding of practicing labor law at Jackson Lewis, encouraging summer associates to assume significant responsibility and gain exposure to a broad range of traditional labor relations work. This includes research and writing, responding to unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB, supporting collective bargaining negotiations, and advising employers on union organizing, collective bargaining agreements, and other labor relations matters. Summer associates will also have opportunities to attend significant case-related events such as collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, and client meetings. The firm is committed to providing feedback and mentorship to help summer associates understand what it takes to be successful.

Requirements

  • Must be in their 2nd year of law school
  • Outstanding academic credentials; top third of class
  • Demonstrated interest in labor law through coursework or past work experience
  • Solid legal research, writing and decision-making skills
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve
  • Ability to read and understand complex legal documents
  • Strong persuasion skills
