About The Position

Jefferson County is seeking Traditional Health Workers (THW) at three levels: I, II, and III. These roles are crucial for building strong relationships within the community to improve access to public health services and support prevention efforts. THWs may support clinic-based services, health promotion, and family support activities across various Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Program Elements, such as tobacco prevention, immunizations, and maternal and child health. They work to reduce barriers, support culturally responsive care, and strengthen community engagement through outreach and education. The THW I works under direct supervision, the THW II with greater independence and expertise, and the THW III as an advanced-level liaison providing leadership in outreach strategy, systems navigation, and program development, operating with a high degree of independence. The THW III plays a critical role in equity-focused, systems-level initiatives and may serve as mentors or trainers for other THWs.
