About The Position
Kalshi Trading is an affiliated trading entity that operates across all different categories on Kalshi. We are looking for backend engineers who can build and maintain the infrastructure underlying our trading operations. The rest of what the role looks like is up to you - a big part of our approach is that you get to chart your path as we grow and evolve. You will have a lot of influence in shaping what both your role and the activity of Kalshi Trading look like as we grow. There's a lot of green field to conquer, we trust that you'll make a lot of it your own.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a backend engineer
- Experience directly building trading systems including order management
- Experience building robust high performance event-driven systems and APIs
- Experience writing concurrent code
- Very comfortable with relational databases (e.g. Postgres)
- Familiarity with the AWS stack (especially RDS and ECS)
- Proficiency in one of: Golang, Rust, C++
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with stream processing (Kafka)
- Familiarity with frontend development
- Familiarity with machine learning, neural networks, or generative AI including LLMs
- Experience trading on Kalshi or other prediction markets
