About The Position

This role involves overseeing class action processes, collaborating with various internal and external teams to ensure accurate and timely filings. The position requires initiating and implementing strategic solutions for corporate actions and class actions to improve efficiency, automation, and risk mitigation. Key responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders, developing an oversight model for offshore teams, and collaborating on an oversight dashboard. The role also focuses on managing Asset Servicing risk for global corporate actions, emphasizing operational risk management and client experience. It serves as an escalation point, involves developing a Corporate Action Risk Dashboard, communicating operational issues to senior management, and working on strategic initiatives for data enrichment and visualization. Additionally, the role supports Fixed Income trade orders, ensuring flow to Middle Office systems, and provides support to portfolio managers, traders, and investment specialists. It also involves developing and applying automation technologies for trade processing and creating market products to optimize the trading platform, driving continuous improvement and risk reduction across the trade path.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Financial Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Trading Services, Asset Servicing Risk, Security Lending, Financial Analyst, or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Financial Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Trading Services, Asset Servicing Risk, Security Lending, Financial Analyst, or related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience investigating cash and stock breaks, record date balancing, and payment processing of coupon and redemption events.
  • 5 years of experience scrubbing and validating corporate action events, reconciling trading positions, managing claims of market buy and sell trades, and managing exceptions as related to Mandatory and Voluntary corporate action events.
  • 5 years of experience supporting day-to-day operational processes and exception resolution.
  • 5 years of experience in planning, strategy & execution of technology integration and process automation.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing security-level data and corporate action information using industry financial systems including Bloomberg, Markit, DTCC, TLM, and Broadridge applications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee class action processes, collaborating with client account managers, legal teams, portfolio managers, and third-party vendors to ensure precise and timely filings.
  • Initiate and implement strategic solutions in both corporate actions and class actions to enhance efficiencies, facilitate automation, and mitigate risk.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including portfolio managers, third parties, and technology, operations, and legal teams.
  • Develop and implement an oversight model for offshore teams, focusing on deliverables, including reporting, team meetings, random sampling, and continuous learning sessions.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to build an oversight dashboard that reflects all key performance indicators.
  • Manage Asset Servicing risk associated with global corporate actions, with a focus on operational risk management and delivering a positive client experience.
  • Serve as an escalation point for inquiries.
  • Develop a Corporate Action Risk Dashboard that provides a real-time view of client and firm exposure to elective events, working with Product and Technology teams.
  • Communicate operations issues and remediation steps to senior management, ensuring an understanding of the control environment.
  • Work on strategic initiatives for enrichment, manipulation, and data visualization.
  • Support Fixed Income trade orders, ensuring flow to Middle Office systems, and provide support to portfolio managers, traders, and investment specialists.
  • Develop and apply automation technologies to support trade processing, including settlements, profit and loss, and confirmations.
  • Develop market products to understand each deal and contribute to the optimization of our trading platform.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts, while reducing risk across all touchpoints in the trade path.
