About The Position

Gelber Group is seeking highly motivated individuals to participate in a summer program relevant to Gelber’s trading strategies. This internship will cover the basics of liquid capital markets, the various ways in which Gelber engages these markets, and the tools and technology that link us to the markets. Once interns grasp these concepts, they will be assigned directly to a Trading desk to work closely with Traders and the Head of the Desk. The program focuses on teaching necessary skills, providing difficult and interesting problems to solve, and offering hands-on learning with immediate exposure to senior leaders. Interns will gain a thorough understanding of financial markets, collaborate with an Automated Trading Desk on real-world problems, navigate the research process guided by experienced traders, and develop an understanding of Gelber's trading strategies.

Requirements

Curiosity, self-motivation, strong communication skills, and an ability to collaborate with others
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn, understand, and apply new concepts
Making progress towards a master’s or PhD (STEM field not a prerequisite)

Responsibilities

Experience hands-on learning and have immediate exposure to senior leaders within the trading industry
Gain a thorough understanding of the financial markets through a comprehensive and intellectually stimulating program
Collaborate directly with an Automated Trading Desk, tackling real-world problems relevant to the current market environment and industry
Navigate the research process and showcase analytical expertise guided by experienced traders
Develop an understanding of the various trading strategies we trade within Gelber
Construct a strong research process
Develop significant knowledge of quantitative research and the concepts that govern trading and markets
