About The Position
The Trades Readiness Program, administered by the Musselwhite Academy, is designed to offer participants a structured introduction to skilled trades at the Musselwhite Mine. This program focuses on hands-on learning, job shadowing, and exposure to various trade disciplines. It aims to help individuals develop fundamental skills, understand workplace expectations, and make informed career choices. The program is intended to prepare participants for potential trade-related employment, apprenticeship opportunities, or further technical training, while emphasizing a strong safety culture and contributing to the long-term workforce development at Musselwhite.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Grade 10 minimum and/or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Strong interest in skilled trades
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills
- Fluency in English
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Responsibilities
- Gain practical exposure to several operational areas, including mobile maintenance, fixed maintenance, electrical, and site services.
- Receive training provided by experienced professionals.
- Benefit from mentorship and support as new skills are built.
