About The Position

The Trades Helper - HVAC position is within the Facilities Management department and reports to the Executive Director of Facilities Engagement / Assistant Vice President of Facilities. The role requires proficient knowledge and ability to perform maintenance and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, troubleshoot equipment issues, check refrigerant pressures, monitor controls, and respond to service requests. Additionally, the applicant must have a thorough understanding of general maintenance and repair, including troubleshooting plumbing and electrical issues. Strong communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, fundamental computer knowledge for work ticket management, organizational skills, and exceptional customer service are essential. Requirements

Knowledge of industrial boilers and central heating plants.
Knowledge of hermetic and semi-hermetic screw chillers.
Ability to read wiring schematics and troubleshoot controls.
Knowledge of various Building Management Systems including Trane, Siemens, and Andover.
Knowledge of general maintenance and repair to include minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
Valid NYS Driver’s license is required.
EPA 608 certification is required
