About The Position
Aligned Talent Acquisition is continually seeking experienced Trademark & Copyright Associate Attorneys for opportunities with Am Law 50, Am Law 100, Am Law 200, regional, and boutique law firms throughout the Chicago market. If you have experience protecting and enforcing brands, copyrights, and other intellectual property assets, I'd love to connect.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of trademark, copyright, and brand protection experience
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and client counseling skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
- Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
Nice To Haves
- Copyright registration and enforcement experience is preferred
- Experience advising clients on advertising, marketing, and social media issues is a plus
Responsibilities
- Protecting and enforcing brands, copyrights, and other intellectual property assets
- U.S. and international trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, and enforcement
- Handling TTAB proceedings, opposition and cancellation actions, domain name disputes, licensing, coexistence agreements, and brand protection strategies
- Drafting and negotiating trademark licenses, assignments, and related commercial agreements
- Copyright registration and enforcement
- Advising clients on advertising, marketing, and social media issues
- Blend of prosecution, counseling, transactions, and litigation support
- Significant client interaction and portfolio management
Benefits
- Compensation $220,000 – $360,000+
