About The Position
An exciting career opportunity exists at Mainroad North Island Contracting LP for a Trade Leadhand Mechanic (TLM). The TL Mechanic will be tasked with repairing and maintaining company vehicles and equipment among other duties. This position will be based out of Mainroad's shop/yard in Cumberland BC. This is a unionized position, with all perks and other terms stated in the Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- Red Seal Mechanical Certification
- Valid Inspection Certification
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Capable of performing heavy physical duties
- Ability to work shifts (including night shift)
- Willing to work in extreme weather conditions
- Able to work within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedicated and committed
Responsibilities
- Repairing and maintaining company vehicles and equipment
- Sourcing parts and supplies
- Completing repairs to a fleet of road maintenance equipment (ie. Loaders, pickup trucks, tandem highway trucks, backhoes, etc.)
- Directing and/or mentoring others in their day to day tasks
- Planning and scheduling day to day activities
- Imparting corrective action as required
