About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of trade compliance to ensure adherence to international regulations and laws governing imports and exports. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, customs authorities, and other stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable trade laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in international business, trade compliance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in trade compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade laws, ITAR, EAR, and other relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with trade compliance software and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a trade compliance program for aerospace sensor systems.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage the import and export processes for components and systems, including classification, licensing, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) for controlled technologies.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers and relevant authorities to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance for international shipments.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and assess potential risks related to trade compliance, including sanctions, embargoes, and other regulatory changes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and address compliance issues proactively.
  • Develop and conduct training programs to educate employees on trade compliance requirements.
  • Raise awareness of the importance of compliance within the organization.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with trade regulations.
  • Implement monitoring systems to track and report on compliance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of import and export transactions, including shipping documents, licenses, and customs declarations.
  • Ensure documentation is organized and readily available for audits.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, legal, finance, and other relevant teams to align trade compliance activities with overall business objectives.
  • Guide cross-functional teams on trade compliance matters.
