About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Import Compliance Analyst with hands-on experience in customs entry filing to support our global trade compliance program. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely import declarations, supporting duty mitigation initiatives (including FTZ and duty drawback), and maintaining compliance with U.S. Customs and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on customs entry filing experience (required)
  • Strong knowledge of: HTS Classification, Customs valuation and Incoterms, Country of origin determination.
  • Intermediate knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations, CFR 19, General Rules of Interpretation, Explanatory Notes and Customs publications.
  • Ability to translate complex Customs requirements to best practices for business, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and compliance integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with self-filing entries in ACE strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with FDA requirements for importation of medical devices a plus.
  • Experience supporting or exposure to FTZ operations and/or duty drawback is a strong plus.
  • Previous experience with SAP and GTS is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Customs laws and regulations in accordance with Varex’s corporate Trade Compliance program.
  • Assist with in-house entry writer to process self-file entries.
  • Prepare and self-file U.S. Customs entries with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Communicate with U.S. Customs and other Government agencies concerning pending imports.
  • Respond to U.S. Government requests e.g., CF28, CF29, Census, etc., in a timely manner.
  • Support Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, including admissions, inventory control, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to duty drawback program by ensuring entry accuracy and proper recordkeeping for eligibility.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies related to classification, valuation, or documentation prior to filing.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing).
  • Position may require support global operations outside standard U.S. business working hours.
