About The Position

Ericsson Canada Inc. is looking for a Trade Compliance Advisor to join the team in Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office). This full-time, experienced-level role focuses on ensuring adherence to Canadian import and export regulations while driving operational efficiency through automation and data analytics. It is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with deep knowledge of Canadian trade regulations and hands-on experience with modern process automation tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant trade compliance experience
  • Proficiency in SAP, including PO structure, Goods Receipt, and Invoice Receipt; experience with SAP GTS to manage blocked transactions
  • Ability to analyze import and export data from brokerage systems or government authority platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Excel (including VLOOKUP), PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and Microsoft Copilot
  • HS and ECN classification experience, preferably in high-tech, telecom, or electronics industries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — clear, concise, and professional
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners

Responsibilities

  • Monitor import shipments and resolve issues related to shipment delays
  • Execute import, export, and re-export transactions in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Apply knowledge of CSA regulatory requirements, including RSF sweep, EDI setup, B3 declarations, and XTypes
  • Manage CSA Part II updates and submissions to CBSA; navigate the CARM environment and manage related financial payments
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian Export and Import Regulations as well as U.S. Export Administration Regulations
  • Perform HS classification and reporting for other government departments, including recordkeeping and data entry
  • Support ECN classification, CERS requirements, and the securing of export permits
  • Conduct monthly import and export audits and participate in operational review meetings with customs brokers
  • Conduct supplier and stakeholder outreach and support new broker implementation
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare for communications with government authorities, including CBSA and GAC officers
  • Contribute to automation of internal processes and workflows with external service providers
  • Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, presentations, and monthly trade compliance business results reports
