Part Time AZ Local Tractor Trailer Driver
About The Position
The Erb Group is one of North America’s largest privately-owned refrigerated transportation providers, specializing in the timely, protected distribution of temperature-controlled perishable goods across Canada and the U.S. This is a part-time, on-call, day shift position for an AZ/Class 1 licensed driver. The role involves driving to various locations to deliver and/or pick up product, moving freight between terminal locations, and completing all required paperwork. Requirements
- Valid AZ/Class 1 license required.
- Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on AZ/Class 1 license required.
- Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey.
- CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of a driver's license must be provided at time of interview.
- Employment reference check will be completed.
- Criminal record check will be required.
- Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).
Nice To Haves
- Some slip seating may be required.
- May be required to be gone overnight on occasion, but typically makes it home at the end of each shift.
- Will be required to operate DZ units.
Responsibilities
- Drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
- Deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
- Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquiries.
- Perform required pre-trip inspections ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
- Communicate with the shop when maintenance is required.
- Familiarize with and carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
- Familiarize with and comply with all hours of service and any other regulations for all jurisdictions operated in.
- Ensure freight is properly identified/labelled.
- Load and unload product in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
- Familiarize with operations of The Erb Group and comply with company regulations.
- Operate the onboard telematic device which includes the electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
- Attend Driver Safety meetings.
- Perform all other duties as required.
