About The Position
Hill Bros is hiring a hands-on Tractor Technician to maintain and repair its Class 8 fleet, helping keep vehicles safe, compliant, and operational. The shop performs most work in-house except warranty work. The role is based in Omaha, Nebraska, with no travel. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with a Tuesday-through-Saturday option. Available shifts are first shift, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., or second shift, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. Compensation is $23–$25 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills for logging repairs and communicating with the team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record; no SR-22.
- Own set of tools; the company’s Tool Purchase Program can help.
Nice To Haves
- Six to twelve months of hands-on diesel maintenance experience.
- CDL.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on Class 8 tractors and, when needed, trailers.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Inspect vehicles before and after repairs to ensure they meet DOT and company safety standards.
- Record clear, accurate repair notes in the maintenance system.
- Coordinate with the supervisor and fellow technicians to keep workflow moving.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
