About The Position
Hill Bros is seeking a hands-on Tractor Technician to help keep its Class 8 fleet safe, compliant, and operational. The role is based in Omaha, Nebraska, with no travel. The technician performs maintenance and repairs on tractors and, when needed, trailers. Most work is handled in-house, except warranty work. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with a Tuesday through Saturday option. Available shifts are first shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Hill Bros describes the workplace as a team-focused shop with supportive leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills for logging repairs and communicating with the team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean MVR; no SR-22.
- Own set of tools; the Tool Purchase Program may help.
Nice To Haves
- 6–12 months of hands-on diesel maintenance experience preferred.
- CDL is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on Class 8 tractors and trailers when needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Inspect units before and after repairs to verify they meet DOT and company safety standards.
- Record clear, accurate repair notes in the maintenance system.
- Coordinate with the supervisor and fellow technicians to keep workflow moving.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
