About The Position

We’re looking for CROR‑qualified Track Protection Foremen (TPF) with TIGS training who are ready to support railway projects by leading crews, protecting work zones, and ensuring operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all rail rules. If you’re safety‑driven, confident in your leadership on track, and experienced working in live rail environments, this is an opportunity to play a critical role in protecting people, equipment, and rail infrastructure. As a Track Protection Foreman, you’ll be responsible for managing and directing crews while ensuring that rail protection, safety, quality, and project objectives are met. This is an evergreen posting that supports our ongoing talent pipeline and is used to collect applications for future openings.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of railway operations and track protection
  • Proven leadership and crew supervision experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead by example
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in live rail environments
  • Current or previous CROR certification (required)
  • TIGS training (required)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (non‑GDL)
  • Ability and willingness to travel within your home province for extended periods
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as required
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to pass fitness‑for‑duty testing due to the physical demands of the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide track protection in accordance with CROR, TIGS, and applicable railway rules
  • Review contracts, project documentation, drawings, and scope of work to ensure field execution aligns with current specifications
  • Pre‑plan work activities with the Superintendent to determine best methods and develop safety action plans
  • Plan and manage day‑to‑day field operations, ensuring adequate labour, equipment, and materials are in place
  • Take responsibility for crew performance, including safety compliance, audits, and adherence to company policies
  • Conduct tailgate meetings and daily crew briefings covering safety, hazards, production goals, performance feedback, and schedule
  • Model, promote, and enforce safe work practices at all times
  • Ensure appropriate safety equipment is available and properly used by all personnel
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, General Contractor, and customers to support project success
  • Coordinate activities with subcontractors to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and safety expectations
  • Complete project documentation, including timesheets, production reports, equipment logs, inspection reports, and change orders
  • Provide coaching, instruction, and mentorship to crew members
  • Perform other related project or administrative duties as required
