About The Position

The Track Maintenance Worker performs racetrack maintenance duties; operates a variety of equipment in support of a well maintained race track and grounds; provides routine labor support duties to higher level management staff; and performs related tasks within area of assignment. This role is crucial for maintaining the appearance and functionality of the racetrack and its grounds, ensuring a high standard of service for both internal and external guests.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Some grounds and maintenance experience
Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses within assigned state of employment
Must successfully pass background check
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
Must be willing to work a variety of shifts to include swing shifts and holidays if needed

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of operations, services and activities of racetrack maintenance operations
Knowledge of safe and proper chemical applications
Knowledge of common tools and operations of various maintenance vehicles and tools
Knowledge of basic principles of landscaping
Knowledge of customer service techniques
Knowledge of thoroughbred racing
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Ability to safely and effectively perform maintenance and modification repair work
Ability to use hand and power tools and operate light and heavy equipment
Ability to read and follow designs and blue prints
Ability to operate irrigation equipment
Ability to work back on work performed and issues encountered
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
Ability to interpret policies and procedures
Ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, laws and regulations

Responsibilities

Performs racetrack maintenance duties.
Operates a variety of equipment in support of a well maintained race track and grounds.
Provides routine labor support duties to higher level management staff.
Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Six Core Service Standards.
Assumes responsibility for maintenance of the racetrack and racing grounds.
Greets and interacting with our guest in a friendly, courteous, responsive and accurate manner.
Maintains the appearance of the track to maintain required standards.
Maintains plants, trees and shrubs and applies chemicals as needed under supervision.
Operates a variety of vehicles, machinery and equipment to include tractor, pick-up truck, and a variety of hand power and manual maintenance tools.
Performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties to include weed treatment, painting, trash collection and operating of irrigation systems.
Performs preventative maintenance as needed.
Cares and maintains all light and heavy equipment.
Notifies higher level management of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely manner.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings.
Maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the field of track and ground maintenance.
Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
