About The Position

This seasonal role focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the racetrack and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities include managing various track surfaces, performing general groundskeeping, operating equipment, and ensuring a safe environment for racing and training activities. The position requires adherence to safety procedures and racing schedules in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain racetrack surfaces (dirt, turf, or synthetic) through grading, watering, harrowing, rolling, and debris removal.
Assist with preparation of the racing surface and surrounding areas for scheduled races and morning training.
Perform routine maintenance of lawns, turf, landscaped areas, paddocks, barn exteriors, and parking areas.
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as tractors, mowers, graders, water trucks, and hand tools.
Inspect grounds and surfaces for safety hazards; promptly report or correct unsafe conditions.
Assist with irrigation systems, drainage maintenance, and seasonal weather preparation.
Support setup and breakdown for race days, special events, and emergency situations.
Follow all safety procedures, track rules, and regulatory requirements applicable to horse racing facilities.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment storage, and maintenance yards.
Perform related duties as assigned to support overall facility operations.
