About The Position

Iron Horse Terminals is hiring a Track Laborer to work at its rail yard in Beaumont. This is hands-on outdoor work performed locally at one site, alongside an experienced supervisor and operator. The role involves building, repairing, and maintaining railroad tracks, using hand and power tools, and assisting with inspections and track upkeep. Work takes place outdoors year-round. The position is full-time, with a Monday–Friday day-shift schedule; overtime and weekend work may be available when needed. Pay is $18–$20 per hour.

Requirements

Experience with manual labor, construction, or heavy equipment.
Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift, bend, use tools, and handle physical work.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

CDL preferred but not required.
Previous track experience as a track laborer or operator.

Responsibilities

Help build, repair, and maintain railroad tracks.
Lay, align, and repair rail and track components.
Use hydraulic jacks, tampers, grinders, and other hand and power tools.
Clean ballast and track surfaces and remove ice, snow, and debris.
Replace ties, adjust switches, cut rails, and secure joints.
Lubricate equipment and perform minor machine maintenance.
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist with inspections and patrol track for issues.
Work outdoors in year-round conditions.
