Harness - Track Announcer
About The Position
The Track Announcer is responsible for maintaining familiarity with all horses, owners, trainers, and drivers participating at Dover Downs. This role involves communicating the proper running order of horses during live races, associating drivers with their horses, and providing all necessary pertinent information. The position also requires providing exceptional customer service, working safely, and following all established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Track Announcer must also communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and guests, and perform other duties as assigned. This job description is not exhaustive and duties may change at any time.
Requirements
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity of all horses, owners, trainers, and drivers participating at Dover Downs
- Associate drivers with the proper horse name during the running of each live race
- Communicate the proper running order of the horses during each live race
- Communicate all pertinent information as necessary
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Work safely, following all established safety rules and regulations
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests
- Follow all relevant policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
