About The Position

Join Our Third Party Salvage Team! We’re looking for a confident and detail-focused TP Salvage Purchaser to join our specialist team at 4th Dimension Innovation in Egham, Surrey. This role is ideal for someone with experience in vehicle purchasing, salvage, claims management, motor claims or insurance. You’ll be responsible for contacting clients, negotiating the purchase of damaged vehicles through the third-party claim route, and helping customers understand the process with clarity and confidence. You’ll need strong negotiation skills, good commercial judgement and the ability to work within set purchasing parameters. The role profile highlights that this position involves purchasing salvage vehicles via the TP claim route, supporting non-fault claims, handling client objections, reviewing valuations and working closely with internal teams including finance, logistics and engineering.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in vehicle purchasing, salvage, motor claims, insurance or claims management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to handle client conversations professionally.
  • Good understanding of claims management processes and procedures.
  • Ability to analyse vehicle valuations and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Experience using HPI checks or similar vehicle history/finance checks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail when managing documents, claim notes and purchase information.
  • Confident working with internal teams including claims, finance, logistics and engineering.
  • Able to work within authority levels, company policies and compliance processes.
  • Proactive, organised and comfortable resolving issues in a busy claims environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of salvage categories, including Category N and Category B, would be beneficial.
  • Experience purchasing damaged vehicles or salvage.
  • Knowledge of third-party claims and non-fault claims processes.
  • Experience raising or supporting vehicle valuation disputes.
  • Understanding of motorcycle claims or the wider automotive industry.
  • Confidence handling objections and explaining claim processes to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Contact clients to discuss and negotiate the purchase price of their damaged vehicle.
  • Purchase salvage vehicles through the third-party claim route, working within agreed authority levels and purchasing parameters.
  • Review vehicle valuations and support the non-fault team with valuation disputes where a third-party insurer has undervalued a vehicle.
  • Carry out HPI checks to confirm finance status and decide the best course of action where finance is outstanding.
  • Request and manage vehicle documents where required.
  • Send payment requests to the finance department so purchases can be processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Arrange the return of unsold salvage through the internal logistics team.
  • Identify cases that may need to be referred to the external purchasing team.
  • Support the Engineering department when needed, including assisting with settlements, assigning salvage categories and clearing salvage post-settlement.
  • Maintain accurate records throughout the purchasing and claims management process.
