About The Position

As a Tower Technician II specializing in microwave systems, you will work closely with your Field Foreman to safely execute critical point-to-point and point-to-multipoint link deployments. This role involves climbing various structures up to 500+ feet, assisting with rigging, installing and terminating equipment, and performing testing while setting a strong safety example for newer crew members.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3+ years of active tower climbing experience, with direct exposure to installing microwave dishes or heavy rigging preferred.
  • A valid Competent Climber / Tower Rescue certification and a minimum of OSHA 10.
  • Willingness to commit to a 100% travel schedule during the workweek.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States (we are unable to sponsor visas at this time).

  • Direct exposure to installing microwave dishes or heavy rigging.

Responsibilities

  • Safely climb a variety of structures (cell towers, monopoles, guyed towers) up to 500+ feet, assisting with heavy rigging plans to hoist microwave dishes (2ft to 6ft+), radomes, and waveguides.
  • Assist with the pathing and panning process, fine-tuning dishes to optimize Received Signal Level (RSL) values.
  • Install and terminate outdoor units (ODUs), indoor units (IDUs), coax, fiber optic trunk lines, hybrids, and grounding systems to strict manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist with line sweeps and pathing software testing to troubleshoot physical line issues, while setting a strong safety example (100% fall protection) for newer Tower Tech I crew members.
