About The Position

Tower Technicians are responsible for performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless telecom equipment at various sites, often internationally. Depending on level, the scope includes increasing responsibility for quality, efficiency, leadership, and mentoring. The Crew Leader is a working field leader responsible for directing day-to-day activities of assigned crew members while actively participating in the work. This role ensures tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with TCE standards and project requirements. Crew Leaders are expected to lead by example, support their teams, and communicate clearly with supervisors and Project Management.

Requirements

  • Must be RF Awareness, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10 / 30 certified.
  • Must have full climbing gear, PPE, and necessary tools (based on level).
  • Minimum 1 year commitment if sponsored under work visa program.
  • Willing and able to travel for extended periods (minimum 6 weeks at a time).
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Support wireless site builds and installations under supervision.
  • Perform waterproofing, grounding, and cable support tasks.
  • Assist with materials handling, housekeeping, and safety checks.
  • Follow directions and learn trade skills on-site.
  • Perform all TT I duties with minimal supervision.
  • Lead basic installations: antennas, radios, jumpers, grounding, RETs.
  • Mentor TT I team members and assist with integration tasks.
  • Collect closeout documentation and assist TT III as needed.
  • Lead telecom equipment installations with minimal guidance.
  • Train and mentor TT I & II technicians.
  • Troubleshoot and support site integration.
  • Assist or substitute for Crew Leader when necessary.
  • Perform advanced tasks such as sector frame and platform installation.
  • Lead daily jobsite activities and assign tasks to crew members.
  • Work hands-on alongside the crew performing telecom, tower, civil, or infrastructure work.
  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, scopes of work, and schedules.
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact.
  • Enforce TCE safety standards, OSHA requirements, and jobsite protocols.
  • Lead daily tailgate meetings and ensure JHAs are completed.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
  • Identify and address hazards, unsafe conditions, or quality issues immediately.
  • Support training and development of crew members.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors on crew performance and needs.
  • Help build a positive, respectful jobsite culture.
  • Communicate job progress, issues, and material needs to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with other crews, subcontractors, and site contacts.
  • Support documentation, photos, and daily reporting as required.
