About The Position

As a tower lead for our Ohio market, you will assist the crew foreman with site management duties that include tower and ground operations, sweep testing, tower maintenance and installation, coaxial and antenna installation and required RF testing, and related responsibilities in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines. Every day, you will interact with customers and subcontractors, and you will communicate with the foreman about work progress and known issues. You will also provide training, guidance, and work leadership to direct subordinate climbers/tower technicians to maximize safety and productivity, minimize costs, and maintain quality.

Requirements

Ability to climb towers and work at heights up to 500 feet.
Ability to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to complete/submit paperwork by required deadlines.
Ability to travel extensively with frequent overtime and some evening and weekend work.
A valid driver's license.
Ability to qualify as an approved company driver.
Advanced knowledge of OSHA safety and quality guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of relevant tools and equipment.
Advanced knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the telecommunications construction field.
Demonstrated understanding of crane signals.
Ability to demonstrate whoops.
Ability to perform rescues.
Demonstrated understanding of safe/proper complex rigging procedures.
Demonstrated understanding of working load limits.
Demonstrated understanding of weatherproofing.
Demonstrated understanding of tower precon.
Demonstrated understanding of advanced cathead knowledge.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and RFDS.
Knowledge of rigging and mounting procedures for all antennas and equipment.
Knowledge of different carriers, color codes, and routing guidelines.
Ability to direct tower top troubleshooting.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to pass all required pre-employment processes, including a background check, DOT inspection, and drug screen.
ComTrain certification (may be completed in-house).
OSHA 10 certification (may be completed in-house).
TTT1 certification (may be completed in-house).
Connector training (may be completed in-house).
First Aid/CPR training/certification (may be completed in-house).
PIM certification and ability to use PIM gear (may be completed in-house).
Sweep certification and ability to use sweep gear (may be completed in-house).
Fiber certification and ability to use fiber gear (may be completed in-house).
Ability to obtain a DOT physical card.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the telecommunications industry.
Prior experience with LTE upgrades and other relevant technology.
Demonstrated understanding of crane signals and ability to demonstrate whoops.
Ability to perform rescues.

Ability to perform vehicle inspections and complete daily DOT paperwork.
