About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tower Foreman to lead our wireless tower technician crews. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work at heights, and a commitment to quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wireless tower maintenance and installation, possess relevant certifications, and be capable of supervising and guiding a team effectively. Responsibilities include ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, managing crew performance, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience as a Wireless Tower Technician.
  • Ability to climb and work at heights of 500+ feet is mandatory.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 75lbs.
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, twist, reach, grasp and climb with both hands and legs.
  • Ability to blend well and work well with crew members.
  • Ability and competency to supervise and lead a crew.
  • Strong and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness and ability to follow directives.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Skilled with Antenna systems, Jumpers, Connector installation, Weatherproofing, and Grounding is a MUST.
  • Ability to use a digital camera and/or electronic device with the ability to take quality photos.
  • ComTrain certified or equivalent climber rescue training.
  • Rigging Certification or experience, is a must.
  • Ability to operate a Capstan Hoist.
  • Ability to send daily site reports and crew timesheets.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customer site support via electronic device.
  • Ability to fill out daily job site paperwork, including but not limited to, JHA’s, Safety Forms, etc.
  • Must be able to work OT and weekends as required.
  • Direct responsibility for personal tool and trailer inventory of company provided tools and equipment.
  • Candidates must pass a background, Drug test, and DMV screening.
  • Travel outside of our current markets (Michigan & Indiana) may be required.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Troubleshooting experience and knowledge to diagnose and fix the common causes of equipment failure and site alarms (VSWR, diversity, TMA alarms, etc.).
  • Basic Computer/Email Skills - Excel, Word and Outlook Microsoft experience.
  • Ability to use an Antenna Alignment Tool (AAT) & Compass.
  • Anritsu and Fiber testing.
  • Industry experience and understanding of multiple carrier standards and procedures (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.).

  • Other vendor and client-specific certs will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a crew of wireless tower technicians.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with client, company, and government safety requirements.
  • Follow construction and installation procedures and policies.
  • Perform skilled tasks related to antenna systems, jumpers, connector installation, weatherproofing, and grounding.
  • Climb and work at heights of 500+ feet.
  • Operate a Capstan Hoist.
  • Use an Antenna Alignment Tool (AAT) & Compass.
  • Perform Anritsu and Fiber testing.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failure and site alarms (VSWR, diversity, TMA alarms, etc.).
  • Send daily site reports and crew timesheets.
  • Effectively communicate with customer site support via electronic device.
  • Fill out daily job site paperwork, including JHA's and Safety Forms.
  • Maintain proper personal hygiene and ensure company trucks and trailers are kept neat.
  • Take responsibility for personal tool and trailer inventory of company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Learn and take on new tasks as needed.
  • Ensure quality work is performed.
  • Comply with policies and procedures for efficient and safe technical operation.
