About The Position

The Total Rewards Specialist will oversee the administration and compliance of all benefits and pension programs and implement changes. In addition to delivering outstanding customer service, this role will administer the compensation program and provide analytical and technical support to non-occupational leaves, program delivery and recommendations for program modifications to attract and retain employees by being market competitive. This is a new position in the company.

Requirements

  • 5 – 7 years of related benefits and compensation administration experience required.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent government regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits.
  • High integrity and maturity with the ability to maintain highest standards of confidentiality.
  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to evaluate and make judgements on proposals (RFPs).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer service orientation.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • General computer skills and a technical aptitude (e.g. MS Office, HRIS).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of all benefits and pension programs and implement changes.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors, third-party administrators and employees.
  • Oversee maintenance of group benefits and union/non-union pension data in vendor databases, and work with employees, vendors, and IT to troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage the maternity / parental leave process, along with wellness and other employee initiatives that Maple Lodge Farms offers.
  • Provide analytical and technical support, including regular plan audits and reporting on current benefit and pension offerings to management.
  • Review both short- and long-range cost estimates/projections in benefits programs and implementation of new programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sr. Manager, Claims and Return to Work to ensure the non-occupational and occupational short-term and long-term disability absences and return to work are accurately reflected in ADP in a timely manner
  • Calculate and analyze pension and benefit cost implications for employees on unpaid leaves of absence. Support Employee Relations (ER) and Return to Work (RTW) through data validation, reporting, and trend analysis
  • Analyze and administer employer compensation programs, including annual base pay increases and short-term incentives, that align with company objectives for recruiting, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Assist in the development and modification of job descriptions and maintain all job descriptions.
  • Assist in the design and communication of pay structures, grades, compensation budgets, and guidelines. Participate in compensation surveys, conduct research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.
  • Develop communication tools to promote and enhance understanding of the company's compensation and benefits package.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of department specific Policies, Processes & Procedures
