About The Position

The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of Stella-Jones' total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and pension plans. Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, this role will drive the development of strategies and processes that support the company’s objectives, attract top talent, and ensure competitiveness in the market. The Manager will oversee the effective delivery of key programs and initiatives while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This position also involves managing a team and ensuring alignment with Stella-Jones' growth and transformation goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in total rewards, with expertise in compensation, benefits, pensions, and incentive program management.
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing small teams and large-scale projects.
  • Experience in both Canadian and U.S. compensation practices is required.
  • Proven ability to manage complex processes and deliver results in a fast-paced, multi-region environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of total rewards strategies, market benchmarking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in HRIS systems (Dayforce an asset), advanced Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a professional team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and Payroll, to ensure alignment and effective program delivery.
  • Serve as a key contributor to cross-functional projects and initiatives that advance organizational goals.
  • Lead the management and delivery of all total rewards programs, including compensation structures, pension plans, and various incentive initiatives.
  • Partner with the Director to align program execution with broader strategic objectives and ensure seamless integration across regions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance total rewards offerings and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote employee understanding and appreciation of total rewards programs.
  • Collaborate with HR partners and managers to address complex queries and provide training on total rewards policies and processes.
  • Act as a key resource for educating employees on program value and enhancements.
  • Drive process improvements to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of total rewards programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in Canada and the U.S., conducting audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor industry trends and leverage data analytics to provide actionable recommendations for program evolution.
  • Analyze compensation, benefits, and incentive data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership to support decision-making and program adjustments.
  • Maintain data accuracy and integrity across all total rewards systems and tools.
