About The Position

This role serves as the Center of Competency (CoC) and Standards Lead for Torque & Fastening Standards. The position involves measuring the effectiveness of torque tools, implementing lessons learned, conducting benchmarking, and leading special projects related to new torque technology. The Lead will establish core processes, provide training, and ensure adherence to torque tool standards across all plants and programs. This includes performing comparative analysis, maintaining standards, and supporting engineering and product development activities. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on teamwork and computer proficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering preferred or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in General Assembly
  • Excellent organization and oral/written communication
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Computer proficiency (Power point, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Technical Writing)
  • Problem solving with KAI’s

Responsibilities

  • Measure effectiveness of torque tools using KPI’s and KAI’s.
  • Review and implement lessons learned for each major piece of torque tools from all plants and programs using Dashboard and sharing best practices.
  • Focused Benchmarking.
  • Special projects and new torque technology CoC/Standards lead.
  • Establish core process and provide training for torque tools and do a read across with the plants.
  • Establish torque tools CoC/standards through comparative analysis and decision matrix using SIS knowledge as required.
  • Establish and maintain torque tools Standards.
  • Lead front loading activities for Product and product packaging meetings to analyze torque tooling impact and assist them with design for manufacturing for the major systems above and align with VPE torque tool standards.
  • Support launches to ensure torque tools standard adherence as needed.
  • Torque tools CoC/Standards will much further up-front interface with engineering.
  • Update weekly status and timing on projects.
  • Direct and assist plant and programs when needed as part of CoC/standard group.
  • Responsible for maintaining all torque tooling standards, including completed designs and global project activities where appropriate.
  • Be capable of and perform any operation in the group.
