About The Position
This role involves cutting metal material using a 6-foot torch in a scrap metal recycling environment. The position requires adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. The job involves moderate to heavy physical demands and requires the use of specific equipment and tools.
Requirements
- Experience Cutting with a 6 feet Torch is required
- Only cutting metal material with a 6 feet Torch
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Setting up the cutting area for Hot Work Policy, Emergency Action Plan, and efficient cutting production
- Setup Oxy-fuel station position, regulator adjustments, hose safety and torch condition
- Change out compressed gas cylinders when required
- Wear the required PPE
- Maintenance and housekeeping of the entire torch cutting area
- Inspect the safety of the equipment
- Use common cutting techniques that conserve torch parts and maximize production
- Clean up work area at the end of shift
- Keep work areas neat and orderly
- Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
- Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
- Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
- Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.
