About The Position

SA Recycling is seeking a Burner/Torch Cutter to cut oversized or large ferrous material with an oxy-fuel torch to customer-acceptable sizes. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate safety and weather-protection gear. The work involves high temperatures and flammable gases, requiring a clean, well-ventilated workspace and proper safety equipment, including eye protection. Facial hair is not permitted. The position works Monday through Friday, with Saturday hours as needed. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and pass the required background check, physical examination, and drug screen. Experience with an oxy-fuel torch, general knowledge of scrap metal processing, and a mechanical background are preferred; bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Safely and properly stage materials for processing.
Cut oversized ferrous materials to desired specifications using an oxy-fuel torch.
Inspect and maintain torch equipment to ensure safe and efficient working conditions.
Follow company and safety rules and regulations regarding proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Inspect and maintain the work area for fire control and to eliminate trip and fall hazards.
