About The Position

This role is for a Tools & Solutions Manager who will provide direction to staff in the Revenue Cycle, participate in strategic planning, and lead major analytics initiatives. The position requires translating vision into effective results, managing multiple functions, and acting as a catalyst for process improvements. The manager will also facilitate new ideas, mediate difficult issues, and stay aware of external environmental factors. Additionally, they will participate in the overall management of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle, chairing projects and serving on committees. This role involves acting as a liaison between departments and fostering collaboration. Travel is required as assignments warrant. The selection process may include an OnDemand interview.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience, which includes at least 2 years of relevant financial leadership experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience, which includes at least 2 years of relevant financial leadership experience OR in lieu of bachelor's degree, 12 years' of relevant experience is required, which includes 2 years of relevant financial leadership may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of analytical methods, data visualization, complex dashboards, analytical tools, statistical reasoning, data ETL processes, automation, and creating scalable and sustainable processes.
  • Ability to connect externally with stakeholders to understand the underlying need and internally with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, KPI standardization, and data quality principles.
  • Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorships now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care revenue cycle leadership experience preferred.
  • Relevant certification(s).
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Epic data and reporting concepts (e.g., Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito tools) as well as analytical tools (eg., PowerBI/Fabric, Tableau, GCP) sufficient to guide analytical work and interpret results preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction to professional and supervisory staff in the Revenue Cycle.
  • Participates in strategic planning for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle Tools & Solutions team.
  • Leads major analytics initiatives for Revenue Cycle, partnering closely with Revenue Cycle Operational Leadership and Central Intelligence and Analytics Developers.
  • Translates the Mayo Clinic and departmental vision into meaningful and effective responses and results.
  • Delegates responsibility and authority to carry out work.
  • Manages multiple functions and serves as a resource with oversight in day to day activities.
  • May manage multi-site operations.
  • Participates in the identification of opportunities to improve processes and to act as a catalyst for realizing these improvements.
  • Acts as a facilitator and generator of new ideas and a mediator on difficult issues.
  • Brings awareness of current external environment issues.
  • Participates in the overall management of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle by chairing and serving on Enterprise projects/groups, task forces, councils and committees.
  • Serves as a liaison between sections and other departments and agencies inside and outside Mayo.
  • Creates customer service driven sections and fosters collaboration with physician and administrative colleagues.
  • Builds teamwork within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle.
  • Participates in retention planning initiatives.
