About The Position

Dematic Corp. has an immediate need for a Tools & Asset Specialist as part of the Installation Site Services Department. This role provides installation field team support by supplying the tools & equipment needed to perform installation activities onsite. The specialist performs equipment and asset monitoring, logistics support, inventory management, and some tool maintenance. The tools/asset specialist provides professional expertise in coordinating tools and asset coordination. This role is an integral part of the installation team support, working with Superintendents, Supervisors, and overall Site Management to gain the forecast for tool/equipment needs throughout the project lifecycle. This position will require 25% travel to perform tool/asset inventory audits as needed.

Requirements

  • Working experience supporting large construction in material handling equipment, and/or industrial plant maintenance
  • Comprehensive understanding of small hand tools and equipment (i.e. forklift trucks, cranes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Lean 5S Method related to warehousing
  • Logistics experience: Working with 3PL managing LTL or Full Truck Loads
  • Inventory management skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings to accommodate site service needs
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Performing professional and/or technical activities, providing advice and direction in tools/asset management.
  • Working on a collaborative team with cross-functional responsibilities related to tools/asset management.
  • Track equipment/tool trailer demand and moves for a rotating 6-12 month look ahead.
  • Support and maintain & audit the implementation of Tools/Asset Tracking software.
  • Keeping accurate inventory for all job sites to ensure the availability of tools.
  • Fulfill the site needs for EHS equipment per OSHA standards.
  • Maintaining vendor relationships for all purchasing and repair needs.
  • Create purchase requisitions for equipment needed for jobsites.
  • Manage shipping details for all equipment moves/transfers.
  • Troubleshoot any equipment mechanical issues and schedule appropriate maintenance or repair.
