In this exciting Toolmaker III position, you will be part of the dedicated, experienced, and high-performing team at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN. At this facility, we design, develop, and manufacture components used in Medtronic medical devices. In-person exchanges are invaluable to our work. We’re working a minimum of 5 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.

Requirements

  • Requires minimum of 8 years of experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
  • Possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to be able to adapt.
  • CNC Mill and Lathe experience.
  • CNC programming knowledge and/or experience.
  • Associate's degree, or higher.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications.
  • Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments to compute dimensions and determine machining and material or parts required.
  • Performs precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions, revising design and/or substituting materials based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered, and problem solves as needed.
  • Monitors and verifies quality and safety according to Medtronic's standards.
