About The Position

This role involves performing repairs and maintenance on machinery and equipment, as well as operating manual machine tools to shape parts. The position requires a strong understanding of machining processes, quality control, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work meets quality standards and customer specifications.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating machinery (i.e., mills, lathes, or routers)
  • Working knowledge of machinery and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues using decision-making and analytical abilities
  • Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and ability to professionally complete tasks
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment as directed by management.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance such as lubricating, oiling, cleaning, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
  • Dismantle machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs using various hand tools as directed by management.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of the inspection, testing, or repairs.
  • Record production, repair, and machinery maintenance information.
  • Set up and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, drill press, grinder, hand tools, etc. to cut, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments including micrometers, height gauges, measuring tapes, etc.
  • Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of molds based on customer specifications.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts to conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and other products.
  • Assemble molds and fixtures.
  • Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
  • Ensure work assignments are carried out to the highest quality ensuring customer quality and company needs are met.
