About The Position

The Tooling Maintenance Technician cleans, maintains, and prepares extrusion tooling to the required standard for production. The role includes inspecting, disassembling, maintaining, polishing, and reassembling tooling, while communicating wear or damage to the immediate supervisor. The technician also helps maintain a clean and safe work environment and operates a reach truck as needed.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Oral communication skills.
• Accuracy.
• Safety-oriented and quality-oriented approach.
• GED or high school education, or previous experience.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect extrusion tooling components according to VEKA policies and procedures.
• Disassemble extrusion tooling and ensure proper assembly.
• Perform maintenance on extrusion tooling as directed.
• Disassemble purged-in dies.
• Polish dies, templates, and calibration as needed.
• Communicate wear and damage to the immediate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate a reach truck as needed.
• Assist supervision and tooling maintenance personnel.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
