About The Position

Responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts in both small batches and large-scale production, ensuring all products meet exact specifications. Operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, CNC equipment, and grinders to manufacture metal components. Reviews electronic or written blueprints and job specifications. Calculates and determines appropriate cutting and boring dimensions. Shapes materials such as steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon, and other materials. Determines feed rates and cutting speeds for optimal performance. Identifies the amount of material to be removed. Selects appropriate tools and materials for each job. Plans the sequence of cutting and finishing operations. Marks workpieces to indicate where cuts should be made. Positions workpieces on drill presses, lathes, or milling machines. Monitors and controls feed rate, speed, and machine performance. Ensures proper lubrication and cooling of the workpiece. Regulates workpiece temperature during operations. Detects issues by observing machine performance and listening for irregular sounds. Adjusts cutting speeds to compensate for vibration or inconsistencies. Monitors accuracy and quality of cuts throughout the process. Replaces worn or dull cutting tools as needed. Verifies finished work against blueprints and specifications. Produces high-volume quantities of parts as required. Determines how automated equipment will perform cutting operations. Establishes cutting paths and machining processes. Converts cutting path, speed, and feed data into machine instructions. Operates both manual and computer-controlled machinery. Writes and modifies basic machine programs as needed. Essential Functions Must be able to understand and apply basic instructions related to safety procedures, quality standards, production goals, and company policies. Ability to use hand tools and operate machinery in routine, non-routine, simple, and complex environments. Demonstrates strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Works within established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains a clean and safe work environment. May be required to operate a forklift. Maintains proper inventory of tooling and equipment. Maintains reliable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including but not limited to: Ensuring quality standards are met Reworking or repairing products Supporting production needs as required Competencies and Abilities Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Capable of following detailed instructions, processes, and procedures. Able to identify product defects and communicate issues to the appropriate personnel. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate machinery in routine, non-routine, simple, and complex environments.
  • Demonstrates strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
