Tooling Machinist
About The Position
Kenworth Truck Company has an opening for a Tooling Machinist at our plant in Renton, Washington. This role supports the tool room and production by completing assigned PM’s and WO’s, performing PM and repair of tools for production, and distributing tools and supplies to production as requested. The position also involves maintaining housekeeping and safety standards within assigned areas and performing the duties of the group safety monitor. Additionally, the role includes customer service responsibilities such as distributing materials, following up with customers, and maintaining stock of supplies.
Requirements
- Previous experience with all types of tools and supplies.
- Good working knowledge of equipment and tools preferred.
- Previous experience with stockroom and inventory management.
- Minimum four years demonstrated proficiency in an appropriate craft or trade which includes two years with Kenworth.
- High level of work organization, with strong demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be intimately familiar with product equipment, materials and manufacturing standards.
- Possess barcode knowledge, P.C. experience, and have familiarity with a MMS (Maintenance Management System).
- Available to work the shift 11:00am to 7:30pm

Responsibilities
- Complete assigned PM’s and WO’s
- PM and repair tools for production
- Distribute tools and supplies to production as requested
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within assigned areas
- Perform the duties of the group safety monitor
- Complete weekly safety and housekeeping reviews
- Reviewing process equipment to assure safe operation
- Assist in updating the SDS documentation file
- Properly use, handling and disposal of hazardous materials within assigned area
- Distributing materials to customers
- Following up with customers on material needs or questions
- Maintaining stock of supplies and adjusting min/max levels as needed for production needs
