About The Position

Actively facilitate the preventive maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of our existing high- and low-pressure plastic injection molds. Help coordinate, schedule, and optimize both the tooling equipment and personnel to meet production schedule and reduce unplanned downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of related Tool Room/Mold Shop experience
• 1-3 years of experience with CNC programming and operations
• 1-3 years of experience with applicable CAD experience
• Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
• Communication skills: Articulates messages clearly to broader audience and in a variety of settings; Prepares presentations and communications that are widely understandable; Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Interpersonal skills: Ability to build constructive relationships with people both similar and different to self. Ability to handle the stress of working with others.
• Ability to be available outside of normal work hours.
• Ability to work from an elevated platform up to 40 feet.
• Ability to complete any required training and any corresponding company required work instructions for this position.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
• Ability to understand and comply with ORBIS ISO procedures.
• Ability to read, understand and communicate all safety and operational procedures.
• Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and performance by ORBIS Corporation standards.
• Ability to decipher 3D engineering models, including isolation, extract and program to create needed components.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Tool Room supervisor(s) to schedule and coordinate daily activities of both personnel and tooling equipment.
• Maintain the ability to operate tool equipment safely.
• Mentor, teach and lead personnel to follow proper processes and procedures.
• Work assignments: Evolving problem-solving abilities; troubleshoot mold issues in and out of the press, communicate to new product development on what works and what not to do.
• Utilize and teach best machining and production practices.
• Maintain all applicable documentation and accurate records for mold history through EAM.
• Decision making: Decision making of moderately challenging problems and assist other personnel in general shop duties.
• Follow corporation, department, environmental, quality and safety programs, including the use of PPE.
• Follow company policies, procedures and guidelines including the company handbook.
• Issue Resolution: Recognize when escalation is appropriate; offer mold, plant and companywide continuous improvement suggestions.
• Problem solving: Evolving problem-solving abilities Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; is expected to promote and sustain any/all CI, 5S and STW activities.
• Leadership: Works independently and proactively brings solutions to leader; Works more autonomous with limited guidance from leader; Upholds responsiveness guidelines; Key contributor and emerging leadership role on team; Ability to serve as a leader, part of a team, and productively on their own, based on the circumstances
