About The Position

Saronic is seeking a Tooling Engineer to develop mechanical solutions and support engineering and production teams. The role involves taking tooling solutions through the engineering design lifecycle, from concept through full-rate production. The engineer will design, build, and validate manufacturing and assembly tooling for the Marauder product lines, working with design and manufacturing engineering to meet hardware requirements and production needs. The position also includes evaluating mechanical designs, creating detailed drawings and layouts, analyzing designs, and developing tooling validation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years designing complex manufacturing or assembly tooling.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, solid mechanics, and machine design.
• Experience with tooling development and the entire product lifecycle.
• Proficiency with CAD and finite element analysis software, such as Siemens NX and FEMAP.
• Experience developing innovative solutions to a range of mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate manufacturing and assembly tooling for the Marauder product lines.
• Work with design and manufacturing engineering to ensure tooling meets hardware design requirements and supports full-rate production.
• Evaluate mechanical designs for potential flaws and recommend modifications to prevent problems.
• Prepare assembly or product layouts and detailed drawings using GD&T, and participate in tooling manufacture or build.
• Analyze tooling designs using hand calculations and finite element models.
• Develop tooling validation plans to ensure requirements are satisfied.
• Ensure design implementation, testing, and maintenance methods and processes are developed and executed in accordance with company quality standards.
