Tooling Design and Integration Engineer (Experienced)
About The Position
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an experienced Tooling Design and Integration Engineer to join our team in Heath, OH. This position is expected to be fully onsite in Heath, OH. The role involves interpreting design requirements and developing tooling designs to meet assembly requirements. The engineer will develop program and project requirements, create highly complex equipment and tooling concepts, and design solutions, including alternatives for the Production System. Responsibilities include completing complex design drawings, owning configuration management from design through fabrication, and turning over to assembly technicians. The role also involves validating analysis of technical data, influencing product engineering design, and making robotics, automation, or technical recommendations to support production system integration for aerospace products. Support will be provided for the creation and modification of equipment and tooling definition at the program level. The engineer will carry out project plans, provide input to make/buy decisions, and partner with procurement to meet program schedule, cost, and quality targets. Ensuring compliance with established industry safety, design, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements is crucial. The position includes performing gated reviews, developing plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares, and validating contractual performance milestones. Developing and implementing work-arounds, and maintaining hardware configuration, software configuration, and documentation are also key aspects. The role involves evaluating new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations, and supporting plan implementation through project management, planning, and scheduling, including shop projects for integration.
Requirements
- This position requires the obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.
- Minimum 3+ years of related experience.
- CATIA experience.
- Experience drawing, reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- If not already within commuting distance of Heath, OH, willingness and ability to relocate at your own expense.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
