About The Position

The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for generating and revising tooling process manuals, coordinating tool crib personnel, assisting personnel with tool-related questions and usage, and researching and determining approved tooling for new programs. This role also involves creating purchase requisitions, maintaining and controlling tools/equipment, tracking tool locations, and maintaining assemblers' tool kits. Additionally, the coordinator will research and recommend calibration and maintenance requirements for new tools, follow manufacturers' calibration and preventative maintenance procedures, and perform monthly tool and equipment calibration and maintenance verifications. Minor tool and equipment repairs will also be performed. The position serves as a liaison between production, engineering, and planning departments for tool repair and maintenance, plans for off-site calibration verifications, and maintains Mylars and Harness Assembly Drawings, including their locations and the coordination of jig manufacture and installation on drawing boards. The role also includes plotting and verifying Harness Assembly Drawings are plotted to scale.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years tool crib or other experience working with tools
  • Experience working in conformance with a quality system

  • Ability to adapt and work alone with little supervision/self-starter

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Mylars and Harness Assembly Drawings
  • Maintain locations for Harness Assembly Drawings
  • Coordinate the manufacture and installation of jigs on Harness Assembly Drawing boards
  • Plot and verify Harness Assembly Drawings are plotted to scale
