This role is responsible for all activities associated with running the machine, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. The Tooling Coordinator will ensure all die coordinators are qualified to inspect and recognize tooling that needs to be repaired, replaced, or revised. This includes performing scheduled machine walk-throughs to verify planned items are at the machines, and that all other tooling is pulled, inspected, and returned to proper locations. The coordinator will also pull a printing plate backlog once a shift, inspect all items, and stage them if they meet requirements. Additionally, they will perform pre/post inspections of cutting dies, pull and put away cutting dies as they are returned from machines, and assist with dies that are too large or heavy to handle alone. The role involves communicating with production supervisors about dies or plates needing modification, repair, or replacement, and notifying the Superintendent and Supervisors of the status of tooling repairs. The coordinator is responsible for all tooling PO's, maintaining monthly tooling spreadsheets, checking in all incoming print plates, and assigning print plate & cutting die numbers. They will also assign locations to all print plates, enter them into HRMS, and attach supporting documentation to be delivered to the die room. Responsibility extends to all outgoing tooling, ordering tooling and supplies when needed, and assisting with scanning print cards and cads in the system if applicable. The role also includes getting quotes for tooling and being responsible for all tooling bill of ladings that are sent out. Additional duties may be assigned by management.
