The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for generating and revising tooling process manuals, coordinating daily activities of tool crib personnel, and assisting personnel with tool-related questions and usage. This role involves researching and approving tooling for new programs, creating purchase requisitions, and maintaining/controlling tools and equipment, including tracking their locations and maintaining assemblers' tool kits. The position also requires researching and recommending calibration and maintenance requirements for new tools, adhering to manufacturers' calibration and preventative maintenance procedures, and performing monthly verifications, minor repairs, and coordinating with the Planning Manager for new or replacement tools. Additionally, the Tooling Coordinator acts as a liaison between production, engineering, and planning departments for tool repair and maintenance, plans for off-site calibration verifications, and maintains Mylars and Harness Assembly Drawings, including their locations. This role also coordinates the manufacture and installation of jigs on Harness Assembly Drawing boards and ensures Harness Assembly Drawings are plotted to scale.
