Tooling Coordinator

About The Position

The Tooling Coordinator manages the inventory and lifecycle of plates, dies, and related tooling, including tracking, inspection, storage, ordering, and coordination with prepress to ensure materials are prepared, maintained, and available for production. The role is on second shift, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with a $1.00-per-hour shift differential. The coordinator maintains plate and die department inventory, including storage, retrieval, inspections, and ordering. The position has no supervisory responsibility and may also perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

QAD/MFGPro system experience.

Responsibilities

Work closely with prepress.
Receive and review job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
Retrieve and receive dies, rollers, plates, and other tooling for each job and place them on a cart.
Set up, store, and inventory punch units.
Inspect plates and dies and order replacements as necessary.
Track plate and die inventory and ensure tooling is properly catalogued and stored.
Mount plates and maintain an inventory of plate-mounting supplies.
Maintain tooling inventory and documentation.
Order tooling.
Package and ship tooling for resharpening.
Maintain a clean work area and storage systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
