About The Position

The Tooling Coordinator is a critical function in manufacturing. The Tooling Coordinator works to maintain an acceptable inventory level of belts, gravures, screens, pattern and rubber rollers and production supplies to help drive OTD and machine uptime. The Tooling Coordinator will support engineering in preventative measures and root cause analysis to reduce the damage that done to tooling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing work environment and mechanical aptitude required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Visio).
  • Competency in computer based inventory systems.
  • Continuous improvement skills (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, 5S).
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement systems and tools.
  • Ability to drive collaboration across multiple functions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated personal credibility through strong communication skills, achieving results, and trusted relationships with others.
  • Ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement and sustainability.
  • Ability to work within a manufacturing ERP System.
  • Must be a fast learner, driven and self-motivated; strive towards continuous improvement.

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of all ORAFOL manufacturing equipment.
  • May be required to operate and inspect Powered Industrial equipment.
  • Conduct timely incoming belt, gravure, screen, pattern and rubber roller receiving and inspections.
  • Ability to verify and conduct measurements of tooling, such as rubber rollers and gravures.
  • Track, update and maintain belt, gravure, screen, pattern and rubber roller inventory via electronic management systems.
  • Places order requests for belt, gravure, screen, pattern and rubber roller replacements/ repairs.
  • Primary point of contact for engineering and production needs in regards to tooling.
  • Evaluate belt, gravure, screen, pattern and rubber roller damage.
  • Communicate belt, gravure, screen, pattern and rubber roller issues for second opinion with engineering support.
  • Provide feedback for belt, gravure, screen, pattern and rubber roller process improvements.
  • Request and support engineering/maintenance support as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain belt was soap levels.
  • Use of documents pertaining to tooling and or procedures in The Quality Management System.
  • Train operators on best practices when handling / working with belts, gravures, screens, pattern and rubber rollers.
  • Maintain records of damaged tooling to identify root causes of damages.
  • Places order requests for production supplies pertaining to tooling
  • Stage rubber rolls and pattern rolls for upcoming production runs to ensure Tooling is Fit-For-Use and available to maintenance.
  • Maintains an optimal level of product quality and adheres to ORAFOL’s Quality Program
  • Follow prescribed safety guidelines in accordance to ORAFOL Americas Safety program; use required PPE
  • During day-to-day functions handling of hazardous wastes occurs. The types of wastes generated during production may include ignitable solvents, solvent wipers and debris, used oil, non-hazardous resins, and non-hazardous solids. Appropriate container handling procedures and equipment to minimize the potential for a release of hazardous waste during transfer.
  • Primary point of contact for external tooling vendors.
  • Potential to travel to vendor locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
  • Follow prescribed safety guidelines in accordance to ORAFOL Americas Safety program; use required PPE.
